Geometries are getting greater and more detailed with more realistic treatment of physical phenomena. This leads to larger simulation models needing more computer memory and requiring more computational time. We are also performing more simulations allowing engineers to test more ideas and conduct parametric studies. Computing technology is also changing rapidly, making High Performance Computing affordable for even the smallest companies, opening up many new opportunities to use Simulation in Design.
